Jonas Geus is a PhD Candidate and Doctoral Researcher at PINPOINT.
His research focuses on how multinational corporations design and structure foreign ownership networks in response to political risk, institutional uncertainty, and globalization. Focusing on complex ownership chains, he studies why firms route investments through intermediary jurisdictions, how cross-country institutional differences shape these strategies, and how trade liberalization affects firms' ownership decisions. Using large-scale firm-level ownership data, his work connects international business, political economy, and corporate strategy to better understand how firms organize and protect global investments in an increasingly integrated and uncertain world.
Before joining LMU Munich, he received an M.Sc. in Politics & Technology from the Technical University of Munich, with a focus on political economy and quantitative research methods. During his studies, he worked as a research assistant in International Political Economy and as a working student at Siemens, gaining academic and industry experience in globalization and multinational firm behavior.
As Doctoral Researcher, Jonas Geus contributes to the empirical research of the PINPOINT project through the construction and analysis of large-scale datasets, quantitative research, and the presentation of findings at academic conferences.
